Over 300 layers are used to form the base for the hand forged Damascus steel blade use in the limited-edition Gentac "Midland" pocket knife. Artist Chad Nichols utilizes a technique used to make swords in the medieval era. The blade is finished with a unique "Boomerang" pattern, and the Damascus steel frame is hand etched in a "Mind Melt" Pattern. The carbon fiber inlay in the frame gives the piece a unique and modern look.
The one hand button lock and the thumb stud are both set with a blazing red topaz gemstone. Individually numbered, the knife includes a lanyard with a sterling silver bail and comes with a leather carrying case and an elegant wood presentation box.
All handmade items are unique and may have a slight variation in appearance.
