Throughout the year Pinto Ranch hosts Rocketbuster Boots Trunk Shows where Nevena Christi, owner and designer, brings in her unique collection of handmade cowboy boots – true works of art – from El Paso to the Houston and Dallas locations. During the trunk show customers have the opportunity to meet Nevena, browse our inventory, or have their foot traced by Nevena to design a truly custom pair.
In 1989 Rocketbuster Boots USA was founded when photographer, Marty Snortum traded his 1953 Cadillac Hearse for a boot company. Marty’s love for collecting anything retro, inspired designs that gave Rocketbuster their trademark style. Then and now each boot is hand-crafted in the classic tradition of bootmaking, lavishing decorated and can be considered a work of art. Since 1997 the company has been owned and operated by Marty’s better half, Nevena Christi. Nevena, a former fashion designer from New York, met Marty when commissioning custom boots for a Nicole Miller runway show.
Today Rocketbuster Boots builds about 500 cowboy boots per year in their El Paso factory. Among those boots could be custom designs for their celebrity clientele including, Billy Bob Thornton, Sharon Stone, Tom Cruise, Stephen Spielberg, Jane Fonda, Mel Gibson, Meg Ryan, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Petty and Oprah Winfrey, just to name a few.
FIT & SIZING
Rocketbuster boots tend to run big, so we suggest starting with one size smaller than your shoe size. In any handmade boot your heel should slip about a quarter of an inch, and your toe should be in the center of the toe box.
